About RTFS
Today we are the leading specialist in sourcing and supplying biomethane for transport in Europe.
RTFS is an aggregator of unsupported RTFO and RED compliant biomethane for the transport market throughout Europe since 2014. By aggregating multiple supply and demand sources in a portfolio approach, customers and suppliers can ensure their needs are met without single counterparty risk in the supply chain.

Biomethane Sourcing
RTFS is agile and understands the hurdles in the production and applications of Biomethane.
Upstream the value chain RTFS offers long term Unsupported (no feed-in tariff) Biomethane Purchasing Agreements. By doing so, we guarantee financial security for producers and investors while providing them a business model which is fully independent from government support systems.
Biomethane Supply
Downstream the value chain we create the link with CNG Distributors.
This secures the demand and growth for biomethane in transport. The steady demand enables the bio-CNG fueling stations to invest and to grow which means that the network of CNG fueling stations expands. The consumers at the end of the value chain have security to invest in CNG-trucks.

Sustainability Certification
We were the first to source and supply mass balanced Biomethane with ISCC Certification and Proof of Sustainability.
RTFS supports producers with access to other (European) markets. We provide consultancy services to encourage producers to get sustainability certification compliant with National and European legislation. RTFS provides assistance with various parts of the certification process such as greenhouse gas emissions calculations, Mass Balance approach and a trusted framework for sustainability reporting.

What we believe
Clean renewable energy is the new standard: we believe that bio-based materials reduce the dependency on limited fossil resources and lower greenhouse gas emissions. We contribute to the implementation of environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production and use of biomethane.
We are also committed to supporting our customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. We believe that our approach builds trust and makes innovative and credible approaches possible. We connect all stakeholders and provide them access to renewable energy in the most efficient, effective and sustainable way possible.
What we do
RTFS sources and supplies biomethane for transport. The potential of biomethane in the transport market has been in an investment deadlock for years. There won’t be much biomethane for transport unless dedicated Bio-CNG stations were developed, and there won’t be any Bio-CNG stations unless Bio-CNG trucks were put into operation, and vice versa. Together with our up and downstream partners, we managed to break this deadlock and turned it into a ground-breaking self-sustaining growth spiral. What was needed to turn this around was the first dedicated Bio-CNG filling stations for heavy-duty vehicles that supplied 100% biomethane, instead of fossil CNG. This allowed transport fleets to not only meet their own sustainability targets, cost-effectively, but also those of their customers!
How we do it
We structure Biomethane supply chains to fulfil and optimize all sustainability criteria throughout the value chain based on the highest standards. We setup joint project organizations together with all stakeholders. We work together with our clients, collectively define the project, set goals, and determine metrics for success. Our approach is professional and complies with sustainability standards. To establish sustainable biomethane supply chains RTFS:
- is a professional counterpart with excellent track record
- complies with highest sustainability standards has a personal, flexible and efficient approach
